Judge Hoffman grew up in Dallas as the youngest of 4 children. She has one son, Christopher, a one year old whom she adopted from Kazakhstan and is the delight of her life. She is also very close to her entire family. Her father has worked at U.T.D. since 1966 as a space research scientist and professor. She has 7 amazing nieces and nephews she sees on a regular basis, two wonderful sisters and a brother who are all married to great spouses. Judge Hoffman’s favorite hobby is running; she has run 13 marathons and has raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through her love of running.
Judge Hoffman has been one of the attorney advisors for the Bishop Lynch High School Mock Trial Judge Hoffman has been one of the attorney advisors for the Bishop Lynch High School Mock Trial team since 2006. The team competes in the Dallas Bar Association Mock Trial tournament each spring. In addition to this tournament, the team has been invited to the Empire City Invitational Mock Trial tournament in Brooklyn, New York in 2007 and 2008 and will return in 2009. This competition includes teams from across the U.S. and the world. The case is a different problem from the Texas state case with different rules and procedures. The team spends many hours over the summer preparing for this difficult tournament and has learned to transition between the New York and Texas rules. In 2007, the first year of this tournament , Bishop Lynch captured second place and last year, the team placed fifth. Judge Hoffman is extremely proud of her students and enjoys coaching and traveling with the team.
