Dear Dallas County Citizens:
I am honored to serve the citizens of Dallas County as Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 9. Thank you for the tremendous support I received during the 2006 campaign and for electing me to this bench.
The 2010 election season is now upon us. The primary will be held in March 2010 and the general election is in November 2010. Please use this website as a source for news and information regarding my campaign. I hope I can continue to count on your support in the coming year and I promise to continue to ensure that Dallas citizens are treated with respect and in a just manner.
I have worked hard to lower the number of cases pending, to dispose of cases in a more efficient manner and to ensure that every person who appears before me – whether a citizen accused, a complaining witness or a juror - is treated with respect. However, I also believe that the judiciary can have an even bigger impact in the community. In cooperation with the Dallas County Probation Department, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Dallas Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and several local service providers, I have developed a specialty drug divert court called PRIDE Court (Positive Recovery Intensive Divert Experience) for women accused of misdemeanor prostitution. The goal is to help these women become productive members of society and leave the life of prostitution thereby diverting them from the criminal justice system. Please click here to read more about PRIDE Court.
Thank you again for electing me to this position and I look forward to serving you for many years to come.
